Plamerston North City joined in 2020, and has begun recruiting local facilitators to run public courses and lead learning groups.  The Council staff contact is Kian Lee <kian.lee@pncc.govt.nz>  The next facilitator training session will be by Zoom link in late April or early May. To register interest, email rhys@sustainableliving.org.nz with your contact details.

The current public course on Sustainable Living started Thurs 11 March at North City Library and will run until 29 April . If you are interested to join the next programme  please leave your contact details using this link and we will get back to you.

Energy & buildings

Advice on energy efficiency in home insulation and heating, including home alterations and new build to take advantage of sunshine, available free by appointment from the Council's EcoDesign Advisor.

Council has a target of 25% reduction in city carbon emissions by 2028. Read more 

Landlords of rental property (residential tenancies) are obliged to meet minimum insulation standards

Warmer Kiwi Homes scheme is government-subsidised insulation for older homes of low-income earners. Service providers locally have included Energy Smart,  Energywise, and Premier Insulation
